The Irish American Society
of Nassau, Suffolk, & Queens, Inc.

The Center of Irish Culture on Long Island Since 1950!

January 2026
Dear Members,
The attached calendars depict all the upcoming activities, but I’d like to highlight a few. They are: The Installation Dinner on February 1st at 3PM, Paint Night on February 3rd at 7PM and the Grand Marshal Dinner on February 22nd. Any changes will appear on our website at www.irishamericansociety.org.
It is time to renew your commitment to the Society by submitting payment of your 2026 dues. The details appear in the attached leaflet.
Soon after I joined the Society, several long-time members explained that the Irish Center was created by members who donated countless hours converting a movie theatre into the hall that we enjoy today. I was surprised that a group of men and women were so dedicated to the mission of our Society that they devoted their free time to constructing the hall. It is the end of my term of office, and I am honored to acknowledge the continuation of that legacy. Behind every event, our members have worked without pay or praise to make them a success.
I am proud to have served as President during the last two years and wish my successor Helena McKenna every good thing for the future.

Dear Members,
I begin with a huge thank you to our outgoing President John Doyle and his steady supporter wife Nancy. John is a long-time member and has served as a past Director, Trustee, and Parade Co-Chairman. We certainly will not let him go far as a much needed source of assistance! Much appreciation to our outgoing Board members Brendan Kerins, Maureen O’Neil Regan and Kiera Pfaff as well as our outgoing Trustee, Frank Corrigan. Who have spent years building a legacy for future members.

Thanks galore to all our members for allowing me the honor to serve them as President of this great organization and congratulations to our new Board members. I am looking forward to our Installation Dinner and to a busy and wonderful two years. I started at the center years ago with the Knitting Club founded by my cousin Maryellen McNulty. Our mission was to knit hats and scarves for the St. Frances Breadline for many years with exceeding number of items every year! Then my cousin and past president Brigid McNulty asked for help with our wonderful Mother’s Day Communion Breakfast. I finally officially joined and have had the privilege of working alongside so many dedicated people.
I look forward to joyfully spearheading the Society’s mission …to perpetuate the art, culture, and traditions of Ireland and to promote the social and general welfare of its members.
This is one of the finest Irish American organizations, but it takes so much to keep it all going. I urge each of you to come out and help our fine new board and me with assistance and ideas. Attend as many events as you are able and recommend new ones we can make happen!!
